Iraq is currently undergoing a historic infrastructure renaissance. From massive housing developments in Baghdad like the Bismayah New City project to port expansions in Basra, such as the Grand Faw Port, the demand for resilient and durable concrete is surging. However, the Iraqi construction sector faces unique environmental challenges: extreme summer heat exceeding 50°C, high soil salinity in the southern plains, and a critical need to optimize material costs. Ultrafine Fly Ash (UFFA) has emerged as an indispensable mineral admixture to address these structural and environmental pain points.
One of the primary challenges in Iraqi concrete construction is the rapid rate of cement hydration caused by high ambient temperatures. When concrete is poured in hot climates, the exothermic hydration reaction of ordinary Portland cement (OPC) accelerates, causing steep internal thermal gradients. This leads to early-age thermal cracking, compromising the structural integrity of foundations, bridges, and high-rise structures.
By incorporating ultrafine fly ash into the mix design, ready-mix concrete plants in Iraq can significantly reduce the cumulative heat of hydration. The pozzolanic reaction of UFFA is slower than the primary hydration of cement. This delay effectively spreads the heat release over a longer period, lowering peak temperatures within mass concrete structures and eliminating the risk of thermal cracking.
The southern provinces of Iraq, particularly Basra and the Faw Peninsula, are characterized by high levels of waterborne sulfates and chlorides in the soil and groundwater. Standard concrete exposed to these elements is highly vulnerable to sulfate attack—which causes expansion, cracking, and loss of cohesion—and chloride ingress, which triggers rapid corrosion of steel reinforcement.
Ultrafine Fly Ash acts as a micro-filler. Its extremely small particle size (often with a D50 of less than 15 microns) allows it to pack tightly between cement grains. The pozzolanic reaction consumes calcium hydroxide (a byproduct of cement hydration that is highly susceptible to chemical attack) and converts it into dense calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H) gel. This process refines the concrete's pore structure, drastically reducing permeability and preventing the penetration of corrosive sulfate and chloride ions.
With fluctuating cement prices and supply chain constraints in the Middle East, Iraqi developers are continuously seeking ways to optimize material costs without sacrificing quality. Substituting 30% to 50% of cement with economic ultrafine powder represents a major breakthrough in project economics. Since fly ash is a processed byproduct, it is significantly more cost-effective than standard OPC, allowing contractors to achieve superior performance at a reduced cost per cubic meter of concrete.
About Us
Located within the Guji Cement Co., Ltd. plant area in Jianhu County, our company operates under a unified management but separate accounting model with Guji. With a robust production scale of 200,000 tons of ultrafine powder and 600,000 cubic meters of commercial concrete per year, our annual sales revenue exceeds 200 million yuan.
Our state-of-the-art production facilities feature advanced machinery, including one φ3.2*13m ball mill, one φ2.6*13m ball mill, a concrete mixing system, and a wet mortar mixing system. This industrial capacity enables us to guarantee a steady, reliable supply of high-grade mineral admixtures to international markets, including the rapidly developing reconstruction sectors in Iraq.
Applications
Optimizing mix designs for high-volume commercial concrete with enhanced workability and reduced cement consumption.
Enhancing the long-term compressive strength of concrete while significantly lowering carbon emissions.
Optimized for steam-cured precast concrete pipe piles, ensuring early demolding strength and excellent flow properties.
Our manufacturing processes conform to the most rigorous global quality management systems. With testing protocols encompassing IATF 16949, CE, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, and MSA, we guarantee 100% batch consistency. This ensures that every shipment of ultrafine fly ash arriving at Iraqi ports meets international performance benchmarks.

We maintain strict adherence to quality requirements for high-stress applications, including heavy industrial foundations and marine concrete structures.
